Dhanush’s highly anticipated 50th film Raayan has taken a massive opening at the worldwide box office earning ₹24.40 crore gross. The gross collection in India is ₹16.50 crore. The overseas collection of the film is ₹7.80 crore.
‘Raayan’ is now the Dhanush’s career biggest opener in Tamil Nadu by surpassing previous best ‘Karnan’. The film also grabs the place of second-best opening after ‘Indian2’ in this year.
‘Raayan’ is set to dominate the box office for the next few days as it has been receiving positive reviews from critics and audience.
The action-packed revenge drama directed by Dhanush himself also features S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan and Dushara Vijayan. The film music is composed by AR Rahman. The movie has been released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
