While Thug Life is doing well, its advance bookings are not as high as some of Kamal Haasan’s previous films like Vikram or Indian 2. In Tamil Nadu, its pre-sales are similar to recent Tamil films like Amaran and Retro, but it hasn’t reached the blockbuster levels some hoped for. However, with strong word-of-mouth after release, the film could pick up momentum and surpass expectations. It’s also facing competition in the Hindi from Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, which might impact its performance in North India.
