Two big films from Indian cinema are set to clash in theaters on March 19, 2026. One is Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring superstar Yash from the south (known for KGF). The other is Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh from Bollywood, directed by Aditya Dhar. This release date battle has created some tension.
According to a report in Variety India, Yash and his team are upset about how things happened. Yash’s film Toxic announced its March 19 release date back in March last year. This means they booked the date first and told fans about it early. Later, the makers of Dhurandhar 2 chose the same date. Yash feels this was not right. He believes the Dhurandhar team should have at least made a courtesy call to inform him or discuss it.
Yash thinks this lack of communication is common in the Hindi film industry (Bollywood). In southern industries, stars and producers usually talk to each other about release plans to prevent big clashes that can hurt both films. This culture helps everyone plan better and keeps good relations in the industry. But in Bollywood, Yash feels this culture of clear talk and respect is often missing.
Yash is not ready to change Toxic’s date. He is confident in his film’s story, action, and fan support. He wants a long run in theaters instead of just big opening days. He also wants to keep his promise to fans who have waited years since his last big hit. Moving the date now would disappoint them.
This clash is big news because both films are high action and star driven. Dhurandhar 2 follows the huge success of the first part, which broke many records in 2025. Toxic has strong buzz too, with stars like Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, and others, plus Hollywood-level action. Some other films moved their dates to avoid this fight.
For now, March 19, 2026, will be a huge day for Indian movies. Good luck to both films.
