
Dhanush’s upcoming film Kara is set for a worldwide theatrical release on April 30, 2026. The exciting news has been confirmed by the producer, Ishari K. Ganesh under his banner Vels Film International.
Kara is Dhanush’s 54th film (often called D54). It is directed by Vignesh Raja, the filmmaker known for the hit thriller Por Thozhil. The story is written by Vignesh Raja along with Alfred Prakash. The movie promises to be a powerful mix of drama, action, and emotion. The makers announced the title in January 2026 with a special video on Pongal/Sankranti, building huge excitement.
The cast includes Mamitha Baiju along with Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, K.S. Ravikumar, Karunas, Prithvi Pandiarajan, and Karunas. Their performances are expected to add depth to the story. Music is by G.V. Prakash Kumar, a close friend of Dhanush. His songs and background score will surely lift the film’s mood. Cinematography is handled by Theni Eashwar, who will bring beautiful visuals to the rural and intense scenes.
Kara will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Overseas rights are handled by Ayngaran International, so fans in countries outside India can watch it in theaters.
