Yash Raj Films has officially postponed its much awaited movie Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, to next year. The film, which marks the first female led project in the popular YRF Spy Universe, will now release on 17 April 2026.
The Spy Universe already includes big films like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. These movies introduced strong spy characters played by Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan. With Alpha, the studio is making a new chapter where a female spy will take the lead.
Directed by Adi Chopra’s trusted team, the film is expected to redefine how female centric action films are perceived in Indian cinema. Both Alia Bhatt and Sharvari have reportedly undergone intense training to perform high impact action sequences, raising excitement among fans.
The shift in release date also hints that YRF is taking additional time to ensure world class VFX and deliver high quality action sequences. Since this is the first female driven film in the Spy Universe, the team wants everything to be perfect, from the story and visuals to the action choreography.
Alia Bhatt has also been training hard for her role. She is known for giving her full dedication to every project, and Alpha is no exception. Fans are excited to watch her perform high intensity stunts and carry a powerful spy character. Sharvari, too, has been preparing for tough action scenes, and this film could be a career changing moment for her.
Fans now have to wait a little longer, but with this new release date, Alpha is poised to make a massive splash in 2026. The energy, ambition, and representation behind this film make it one of the most exciting Bollywood releases on the horizon.
