Thalapathy Vijay’s iconic 2004 action entertainer Ghilli, directed by Dharani and co-starring Trisha Krishnan, has once again proven its timeless appeal with its second theatrical re-release on February 20, 2026.
This re-release came just two years after its hugely successful 4K version in 2024, which earned over ₹30 crore worldwide. Even after two decades and a prior blockbuster re-run, the film drew enthusiastic crowds, outperforming several contemporary releases and even rival re-releases like Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu.
The latest run, though more limited in scale compared to the 2024 event, has delivered excellent numbers, as many new films struggle to reach this in tough times. Ghilli has collected ₹3.34 crore gross in Tamil Nadu alone during its first week. In the Rest of India, it earned ₹0.32 crore gross.
The total India gross for the first week stands at ₹3.66 crore.
