Allu Arjun’s popular 2006 movie Happy is back in theatres in Kerala. The re-release, called Happy Be Happy in Malayalam, opened strongly on June 12, 2026, and collected ₹30 lakh on its first day (including premiere shows). This is the highest opening for any Telugu movie this year in Kerala.
Happy is a fun romantic comedy with action and family emotions. Allu Arjun plays a happy-go-lucky pizza delivery boy who falls in love with a strict college student, played by Genelia D’Souza. The film has great songs, dances, comedy, and feel-good moments. It was a big hit in Kerala when first dubbed and released many years ago.
Now, the movie is back in a new 4K version with better sound (Dolby Atmos and DTS:X). Film witnessed strong occupancy in major centres such as Kochi, Kozhikode, and Thiruvananthapuram. Many shows reported excellent attendance, while fan celebrations outside theatres added to the festive atmosphere. Videos of audiences dancing, cheering, and enjoying iconic scenes from the movie have gone viral on social media.
A major reason behind this success is the huge popularity of Allu Arjun in Kerala. The actor enjoys a massive fan following in the state and is often affectionately called “Mallu Arjun” by fans. His films have always performed well in Kerala, and the response to Happy once again proves his strong connection with the audience.
What is even more encouraging is the trend for Day 2 advance bookings. Ticket sales for the second day have been very good, indicating that the film is likely to maintain strong momentum over the weekend.
